District 1199J, National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees, is New Jersey's original health care workers' union. We are still the State's leading advocate for high quality patient care, respect and dignity for all health care employees, a powerful voice for workers on the job and organizing the unorganized.

District 1199J represents more than 10,000 mostly health care workers throughout New Jersey. Our membership includes dietary and nurses aids, nurses, technicians and technologists, social workers, therapeutic teachers, doctors, pharmacists, clerical workers, home care workers, psychologists and a cross-section of public employees.
